Alberta Premier Danielle Smith discusses the Alberta economy and the province’s efforts to attract people and investment.
In this video interview, she talks about the importance of the oil and gas sector to the Alberta and Canadian economies and what needs to be done to support entrepreneurs in the country.
The interview took place the day after the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling on the Impact Assessment Act, formerly Bill C-69. Smith discusses the impact of that decision confirming the unconstitutionality of the legislation, which the Alberta government says is already responsible for the loss of tens of billions in investment as well as thousands of jobs across many provinces and economic sectors. It says the ruling represents an opportunity for all provinces to stop that bleeding and begin the process of reattracting those investments and jobs into its economies.
