These are tumultuous times, but also exciting times for Canada’s Podcast.
This week marks the launch of our bi-weekly newsletter, a new offering designed to provide 50,000+ subscribers with up-to-date alerts on an assortment of important developments that in terms of content matter will be varied, timely and useful to them.
“Since going national a year ago, we have learned a lot about our audience and really what we are doing is focusing on what we have learned and putting it into the next-generation site,” says Canada’s Podcast founder and CEO Of Perceptible Group, Phil Bliss.
“We have spoken to 300 entrepreneurs and a number of associations and organizations and we have a good idea of where things are and obviously that has been compounded in the last 90-120 days in a pandemic.”
Leandro Dumlao, Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director (Canada) of Perceptible Group, the firm which owns and operates Canada’s Podcast, says the “vision is to build Canada’s number one podcast channel for entrepreneurs. They are the backbone of our economy, but up until now they have not had that spotlight shone on them.
“How are we going to do it? We are going to harness the power of stories – their experiences and lessons — to create a channel for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs. Everyone who is involved is an entrepreneur. The goal is to provide a platform that will allow them to shine, so they can tell their stories, experiences and lessons to a much larger and captivated audience.”
Meanwhile, the next-generation site Bliss refers to will be unveiled later this summer – stay tuned for further details soon – and will function as not only the home of all our podcasts, but also as an information portal.
To that end, we have created the following categories, all designed to help any entrepreneur and any organization:
- Covid-19 & Your Business (News items, blogs and podcasts)
- Funding & Financing (News items and blogs)
- Growth Curves (News items, blogs and podcasts)
- Marketing 101 (Blogs and podcasts)
- All About Social (Blogs, podcasts, studies)
- HR & Staffing (News items, blogs, podcasts
- Good Reads (New releases of books for entrepreneurs either in print or online, each of which will contain a small blurb. The goal is to create a type of library for subscribers.)
- Technology Advances (new software and hardware offerings, news items, blogs and podcasts)
“This country is driven by entrepreneurs and as we state on the Web site we launched Canada’s Podcast in order to create a network and community so they can connect with like-minded people from right across the country,” says Bliss.
Dumlao adds that as a brand, “it is the only platform that is shining the spotlight on entrepreneurs in different capacities.
“This is something that has been missing in North America. There has been a lot of talk about the sexiness of the tech industry and being a start-up, but when it comes to real hard-core organic entrepreneurship, they have never really had that spotlight.”
